The Quiet Body

Stillness is not absence. In this work, the body in repose becomes a site of compression—where emotion has been gathered in, held back, not released. These are figures paused mid-breath, mid-thought, somewhere between bearing and letting go.

Stillness is not absence. In this work, the body in repose becomes a site of compression—where emotion has been gathered in, held back, not released. These are figures paused mid-breath, mid-thought, somewhere between bearing and letting go.

The stillness is not peaceful. It is chosen, and choosing costs something.

Photographed in controlled light against near-dark ground, the images strip away context until only posture and skin and silence remain. What is left is not rest but restraint—the body as a held thing, waiting without knowing what it waits for.
